You Can’t Do Epic Shit With Basic People

So, after a snowy sendoff ( Chloe thanks for the ride in our version of a blizzard)…we made it the 14 hours to Hong Kong, less than an hour layover to scramble for our connector, and another 3 hour flight to Koh Samui, Thailand….only to find out Janice’s bag was never loaded in Vancouver…we did not see that coming, but understandable I guess, as we cut it so close by only being there 4 hours early πŸ™‚

So, we got here about noonish….I slept one hour over the previous 40 or so, watched about 7 movies, but we were so stoked not to be playing the airline version of frozen tag that we dropped our bag ( not bags)…. and hit the beach, which is absolutely gorgeous….powder sand that does not get hot, no matter how hard it tries.

After we had a few hours walking the beach, we headed up to the room for a quick nap before dinner…as it turns out, it was a nap before bed…’ cause did I mention…one hour sleep in 40?

The next day, step and repeat…beach…walks, explore the street scenes, and off to the Fisherman’s Village Night Market….very cool.

Seems to be a very active area for body builders here, as a number of them are strutting the beach, barely contained in their banana hammocks…we noticed one particular huge Schwarzeneger in a white body suit of some kind…you could not miss him….and damned if he didn’t hit on me later as I walked the beach….in a thick Austrian accent ( not kidding)…he asked me if I had the time….and I said for what?

Anyway….everyone seems friendly here….

Anyway….end of a great day…..brick oven pizza on the beach under the half moon

Tomorrow, out front by 7:30 for an all day marine cruise…..

All great journeys, at least for Janice and I, begin and end at Five Willows. Drive past the potato fields at sunset, turn into the gravel driveway and as the tire hits the first pebble, Zeus begins barking and scrambling for his stuffy…and as we park the car we know that beyond the door are 3 wagging tails patiently waiting to greet us home.

From time to time, we are tempted beyond the corn fields and Texas Beef and Sweet Potato dog food….to see what other stories are out there for us…..because if you stuck a pin in a map of the world ( for anyone old enough not to just google one)….chances are pretty good, we ain’t been there yet.

And so, I think it’s time to stockpile the dog food, and hit the road…
